Black Google Apps for Android

If you follow me on Google+, you will notice that I have been experimenting with many versions of black or ‘Inverted’ Google applications. I have been asked a few times to share my findings and links, so I decided to make a post about it for everyone.

The following modifications require your phone to be rooted, making a backup before you flash these is also recommended.

What is the benefit of using black or ‘inverted’ apps?: If you own a phone with a Super AMOLED screen, such as; Nexus S, Galaxy S II, ect. Black portions of the screen are not lit up, reducing the amount of power the screen uses, or perhaps you just favour darker colours.

The mods were downloaded from Rujelus22, you can find the link to his download page ( HERE )

You will need to flash these from your CWM Recovery, or what ever recovery you use. Rujelus22 also offers a pack of all the modded Google Apps in one flashable zip. I did run in to some issues with Google Talk and Android Market force closing on me, but I uninstalled them with Titanium Backup and reflashed the zip and all was well.

As always, Flashing these are at the own risk of the user. I simply show you where I found my mods from, the rest is in your hands.

Do you prefer the black apps to the white? share a little feedback, perhaps some other cool themed apps you might know of.
