App Review : Class Buddy
Since I started my master’s degree last month, I’ve been pretty busy. It was easier to keep everything organized during my undergrad studies, but now that I had lots of stuff to think about – tons of reading, assignments and assisting professors – I needed a powerful app to help me manage my schedule. I tried many apps, like Schedule St., Grades : Student Organizer and Homework, but none of them were doing enough for me. Then I found Class Buddy.
I want to start out by saying that the Pro version is really worth the money. In the lite version, you won’t get essential features like Assignments, Exams, Reminders and Task Lists. I gotta say, though, $1,54 is a good price for such an app. Alright, so, what makes it better than the other apps out there? First, the user interface is clean, smooth and simple to use. It looks great and it’s intuitive. Second, not only does it have all the features you could imagine, but all these features are organized and well displayed. For example, on the home page, you have your Terms on the left, and your “Term list” on the right : all the event can be shown by Grades, Assignments, Exams, Reminders, Tasks, Week or Month. Then when you click on the current term, you can select your different courses (with lots of info and details) and display all the upcoming (or past) events for that class.
If you combine all of these features with the fact that you can add the score and weight of each assignment (the app will automatically calculate your GPA), I’d say you got a pretty comprehensive app. I could go in much more details, but let me just say this : if you’re a student, this is the app for you.
