Did The Samsung Game Pad Out The Note III Screen Size?
The big Samsung announcement has come and gone but that doesn’t mean that the juicy stories and rumours will stop coming from that Goliath of a company. In showing off one their new accessories, the Game Pad, Samsung may have also outed the screen size of the upcoming Galaxy Note III.
As you can see in the picture above, the Game Pad will support screens from 4″ all the way up to 6.3″. And according to all the rumours circulating around the web, the Galaxy Note III is reported to feature, you guessed it, a 6.3″ display. Now I’m all for big screens but I’m also a fan of pocketability. If the 6.3″ screen increases the overall footprint of the phone to any considerable degree, I think Samsung may lose out on some of the phablet lookers. However, if they’re able to keep the phone relatively the same size (just like they did with the Note II and S IV) then I think the phablet-ers will flock to the device.
On a side note, the Game Pad look like it could be a very handy little accessory. Mobile gaming on smartphones is an ever growing market so why not make the gaming experience a little bit nicer with some physical hardware. I see some amazing potential pairing this with, let’s say, a SNES emulator. Time to get that Mario Bros on again!
