What the rumour said
The report said Google would announce several products at once: the Nexus 5 phone, an updated Nexus 10 tablet, the KitKat version of Android and a watch. Very little was known about the watch beyond its codename, Gem.
Is it the Moto xWatch?
Some observers guessed that Gem could be a rebranded version of the earlier rumoured Moto xWatch. That watch was expected to be a companion for the Moto X phone, which had launched earlier in the same year.
