Rumour: Google To Release A SmartWatch With New Nexus 5 And 10

THIS IS A RUMOUR.  THAT MEANS THAT THIS IS UNCONFIRMED INFORMATION SO TAKE IT WITH A PILE OF SALT!

Now that we got that out of the way…There’s a very interesting rumour floating around the web today.  Rumour is that Google will be unveiling a SmartWatch at the end of the month in addition to the Nexus 5, Nexus 10 (2024), and Android 4.4 KitKat.  Not much is known about this rumoured SmartWatch but it is currently being referred to under the codename Gem.

Some around the web are speculating that this Google Gem device could be a rebranded version of a previously rumoured device known as the Moto xWatch.  As you can probably guess, the xWatch was expected to be a companion device to the Moto X phone that launched earlier this year.  Not much was known about the xWatch either but if they could bring Touchless Control to any phone via the smartwatch, I think they could have a major winner.

Again, this is all a rumour at this point but the source of the rumour, Android Police co-founder Artem Russakovskii, says that he is relatively confident about this.  Here’s his disclaimer:
