Summer is upon us and many of you may be already planning your vacations. One thing to take in account when travelling is what will you pay in terms of roaming so you don’t get disconnected from the world and loved ones who stayed at home. Well for those of you travelling south of the border Rogers has a new offer that is sure to make your trip a bit cheaper.

From yesterday until the July 31st, customers who purchase and activate a Samsung smartphone on a 2- or 3-year Talk, Text & Internet plan will get 350MB of internet to use in a week on your first travel on US soil. That amounts to 50MB a day which gives you about 200 web pages, 1,000 emails or 128 photo uploads.

Nonetheless, customers who don’t purchase and activate a new Samsung phone still have Rogers US roaming wireless internet rate. For $7.99 you get 50MB of internet to use throughout the day, which according to Rogers is more than double what the average user needs, and it doesn’t require any sign-up as the rate will be activated the first time you use roaming internet on the US.

To make planning and enjoying your trip a smoother experience Rogers has also released a list of handy travel apps that you can check out on this link.
