BlackBerry “Krypton” Shows Up at the FCC
Remember that not long ago, TCL’s chief communication officer, Francois Mathieu revealed the first BlackBerry water resistant phone will be coming in the next few months?
Well, it seems that smartphone is codenamed Krypton and was just been spotted going through the FCC. Which means the device’s launch date should not be far from us.
The listing is accompanied by a picture of the device’s back. While the image does not reveal much, it makes it apparent that the phone will be quite slim and coming with a White paint job.
Word on the street has so far indicated a few things about the soon-to-be-announced phone – apparently, the device will arrive with a 1080p touchscreen display, a Snapdragon 625 or 626 processor, 4GB of RAM and a hefty 4,000 mAh battery which will supposedly be able to last more than 26 hours on “mixed used”.
The handset will also include a home button with a fingerprint scanner embedded into it and should make it out in October. It’s quite possible that the device will run Android 8.0 Oreo out of the box, although we don’t have a confirmation on this yet.
The Blackberry “Krypton” also received certification from the Wi-Fi Alliance and Bluetooth SIG, so it won’t be long before it makes a debut. The device will arrive without the iconic BlackBerry QWERTY keyboard.
