It’s that time of the month again, because Google has released the Android distribution numbers today. As OEMs are trying their hardest to finish rolling out the Android 4.3 and 4.4 OTAs to its devices, there are still many devices that won’t be seeing the update so it’s good to know a generalization of what users are running.

As of March 3rd, Android 4.4 KitKat saw a jump of 0.7% compared to last month and Jelly Bean now accounts for 62% of all Android devices that have access to Google Play (4.1 dropped while 4.2 and 4.3 jumped slightly). Android 2.3 Gingerbread (which can be called as the Windows XP of Android) was released more than three years ago and it still holds a significant portion of the chart while dropping by 1%. It sure is dying a slow death.
