Want some unique sounds for your phone? [File Folder]
So, it seemed everybody liked the file folder for the APKs.
To further this idea of a repository of files for your use, and combining some of my ideas on how to make your phone ‘unique’ I’m publishing a folder of some audio files for you to use as your ringtone or notification sounds.
Remember the video I made to show you how to change? In case you’ve forgotten:
It’s funny as I go about and listen to people’s phones. Phones are everywhere, some are the same, some are different. It’s surprising the number of people that can be in a meeting and will have the same ringer.
Many people I assume just don’t change the default settings…. which as an Android user I find disappointing. Part of having YOUR phone is making it YOURS. What better way than with how it sounds!?!
So, here’s a list of some files that I use to help make it my unique device. It’s pretty short right now, but I’m hoping that if you want, you can email me some files.
What’ve I got in there now?
- the ‘droid’ alert
- Samuel Jackson saying a famous line from a children’s book
- “Gmail”
- “Voicemail”
- “Text message”
- “Hotmail”
- Dr. Who Theme
Some of you had liked the idea I had put forward about having your phone ‘say’ what the notification was for. You’ll notice the ‘word’ sounds are in the .amr format. These may or not play on your phone. Try plopping them in the ./media/audio/notifications folder on your phone.
Check ‘em out. Remember to email me if you have any suggestions.
