Want To Use Your iPhone and Android together? A MicroSim Converter Is Your Best Friend
Here at AndroidinCanada, we’re not blind to the fact that there are other great mobile platforms other than just Google’s Android.
One of Google’s biggest competitors is Apple’s iPhone. The latest iPhones use a Micro Sim opposed to nearly everyone else’s full size Sim card, this can be annoying for many different reasons.
If you’re a loyal iPhone or Android user, this probably isn’t an issue. If you’re a guy like me who loves to try all different sorts of phones, or perhaps you have an iPhone and an Android, switching SIM cards isn’t an option. If you buy a new SIM card of a different size, it costs you right around $10+ tax each time you have it changed. If you’re an old school type user that stores their contacts on their SIM card, this is just an even bigger headache.
If you have one of these MicroSIM converters handy, you’ll be able to switch seamlessly back and forth without the worry of buying a new SIM. This particular seller on eBay sells 2X for $0.99 Cents with free shipping. You can also purchase these through some carrier stores such as Rogers, Bell, etc, but not all of them carry it. I bought one at my local Rogers retailer for $5.99, so if you can wait, it’s much cheaper to order online as you don’t have to pay the outrageous inflation costs.
There are other methods to cutting a normal SIM to a MicroSIM but the key word here is ‘cutting’, after doing this method, you’ll no longer be able to use it as a normal SIM. This cutting method is dangerous as well, I’ve watched professionals screw this up and it results in a dead SIM card.
All you have to do is swap your normal SIM for a MicroSIM, order (or buy locally) your MicroSIM converter and you’re set for both worlds. No more $10 charges to swap sims, no longer limited to just normal or MicroSIM phones, no more limitations.
