Sony’s new tablet is finally available for pre-order here in Canada. It’s definitely on the higher end when it comes to price as the 16GB will set you back $499.99 and the 32GB will set you back $599.99. Is it worth the price tag? Well here’s the specs and then you can decide:
- 10.1″ Display with 1920×1200 Resolution
- 1.5 GHz Quad-Core S4 Pro Processor
- 2GB RAM
- 16GB/32GB Internal Storage
- microSD Card Slot
- 8.1MP Camera
- 2.2MP Camera
- 6000 mAh Battery
- Infrared, NFC, Bluetooth
- Android 4.1.2
In terms of the specs it’s definitely a solid device but the specs alone don’t necessarily justify the higher price tag as you can find similarly spec’d tablets for much less. However, the Sony Xperia Tablet Z, like the Tablet S, is IP57 Certified Dustproof and Water Resistant. So that’s definitely something that sets it apart at least a bit. The design is also stunning. I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again: Sony nails it with the designs. They’re sleek, they’re elegant, they’re beautiful.
Hopefully I’ll be able to snag one of these for review once they become available as I’m really curious to see whether it’s worth the high price tag. What do you guys think? Would you buy one or do you stick with Asus and Samsung?
