Sweet Justice: Apple Must Run Apology Ad Stating Samsung Didn’t Copy

I had completely forgotten about this little piece of news.  A while back in of the many Apple vs. Samsung cases, the UK judge had decided that if Apple were to lose the case it must produce an apology ad stating that Samsung did not copy Apple’s designs.  Well it seems that Apple’s appeal has failed and they will indeed have to run this little ad campaign.

The judge was quite thorough with how this must process must go about as well.  The judge states that the “acknowledgement must come from the horse’s mouth,” and that “Nothing short of that will be sure to do the job completely.”  Part of this “job” will be running this apology on the Apple website itself.  From everything I’ve read so far it doesn’t look like there’s a specific time frame as to when this will take place.

This ruling could definitely have some implications on other lawsuits and appeals that are still going on around the world.  Perhaps with this UK ruling, Samsung will have an easier time appealing the ruling made in the USA.
