Samsung ATIV Q Cancelled Due To Patent Issues

Samsung_Ativ_Q_review_01-580-90

A few months ago, Samsung announced its first dual-booting tablet running both Android and Windows 8 – the ATIV Q. The device looked great, rocking an amazing screen which would slide-out to reveal the keyboard, and was able to switch between Android and Windows within a second with the click of a button.

According to some reports, the device might have been cancelled. The device is now missing from Samsung’s website and apparently patents are to blame for the end of this beautiful project. There is no way of knowing which patents are actually behind the device’s cancellation, but a lot of manufacturers are already paying Microsoft for some patent issues so maybe they hold the patents behind this problem.

Customers who had already pre-ordered the tablet will most certainly get refunded if the device indeed gets cancelled, but I’m pretty sure most of you out there would rather have this device back on the table, than your money back. Anyone out there had this device in mind for a future purchase? Be sure to leave your feedback on the comment section below.
