Asus Begins To Roll Out Android 4.2 For TF300T
When if comes to keeping their devices up to date with the latest software, Asus has always been one of the best. In fact, if it weren’t for the S-Pen I would have definitely gone with one of the new Asus tablets over the Note 10.1 and would be strongly considering the new PadFone as my next phone (assuming it came with support for Canadian carriers). For me, updates are important and Asus has always delivered.
Their latest update comes in the form of Android 4.2 and is currently rolling out to the US version of the Transformer Pad TF300T. According to the press release (see below), other regions should also be getting this update within the month. They also state that other devices, including the Asus Transformer Pad Infinity, Asus MeMO Pad Smart 10″, and Asus MeMO Pad, will also be getting the update within the quarter.
While some may still complain that Asus is late to the party, as far as I can recall, they’re still the first to actually update a device to the latest version of Google’s OS and their devices will still be a part of just a handful of devices running Android 4.2. So if you’ve got one of of Asus’ newer Android tablets kicking around, keep an eye out for an OTA in the coming months
Fremont, CA (March 4, 2024) – ASUS is excited to announce Android 4.2 is now available in the US region for the ASUS Transformer Pad TF300T. Android 4.2 will be released to Transformer Pad owners via a free over the air update starting today in the United States and will be available in other regions during March. This new version of Android enhances performance and stability, improves the user experience with new features as well as providing multiple user account logins.
The ASUS Transformer Pad TF300 is one of the most successful ASUS tablets to date and offers a full notebook PC experience when attached to the innovative mobile dock. ASUS is committed to providing the best customer experience, and is the first manufacturer to receive Android 4.2 for partnered tablets. The ASUS Transformer Pad Infinity, ASUS MeMO Pad Smart 10″, and ASUS MeMO Pad will receive Android 4.2 in Q2.
