Wearables Remain A Part Of Motorola’s Future
Motorola has been slowly and steadily regaining its former glory with great devices like the Moto X and Moto G and wearables like the Moto 360 and Moto Hint. Speaking of wearables, despite the slow-ish adoption rate, Motorola has no plans to abandon the market but instead promises more wearables later this year!
We’ll be launching more products in the later part of the year – Motorola President Rick Osterloh
In a recent interview with Re/Code, Motorola president Rick Osterloh spoke a little bit about Motorola’s future plans. He stated that the company will continue to focus on wearables, both for the wrist and ear ,as well as creating useful software features for their phones. He goes on to say that the Moto 360 is just the beginning and that more wearable products are due out later this year. He also reaffirmed their commitment to Google’s Android Wear as their OS of choice for their wearables and stated that creating their own watch software is “a terrible idea.”
In non-wearable news, Osterloh stated that they have no plans to dive into tablets or other devices at this time. He also made known that there are no immediate plans to expand their line up significantly but noted that there might be room for a device somewhere between the Moto G and Moto X. Perhaps the Moto S name that surfaced last year in the midst of all the Nexus rumours could be the name of the new line?
