Samsung To Join The Android Wear Party At I/O?!?

Galaxy Gear 2

Well this is interesting.  Samsung has been pretty active in promoting their own Tizen powered wearables, the Gears, and have remained rather quiet about the possibility of adopting Android Wear to power a wearable.  However, according to a new report by CNET, Samsung is going to unveil its first Android Wear powered watch later this month at Google I/O!

This “tip” came to CNET via “people familiar with the matter” so take it with the usual dash of salt.  The tipster went on to say that Samsung will be producing two Android Wear watches, one powered by a Qualcomm chip and one powered by their own home-made chip.  No word on which device will be showcased, perhaps both will, but according to tip, Samsung will have at least a watch at Google I/O.

With Samsung now in the mix, we could potentially see three watches at I/O this year, the G Watch, the Moto 360, and the Samsung…err… Android Wear Watch! If Samsung’s watch looks similar to the Gear than Motorola will probably still get my money.  I can’t wait to see what everyone brings to the table!
