The Moto 360 is undoubtedly the best looking Android Wear watch right now thanks to it’s unique circular display; however, true competition will soon be here as LG has announced that they will begin selling their own round faced smart watch, the LG G Watch R, in November.
LG announced on their blog today that the G Watch R will begin its global roll out in Europe this November with other areas, including North America, getting the device slightly after that. The only specific distributor that LG mentioned was the Google Play Store but chances are that some brick and mortar retailers will also add the device to their stores in the coming months.
Wondering about the specs of the G Watch R? Well we’ve got you covered:
- Chipset: 1.2GHz Qualcomm® Snapdragon™ 400
- Display: 1.3-inch P-OLED Display (320 x 320)
- Memory: 4GB eMMC / 512MB RAM
- Battery: 410mAh
- Operating System: Android Wear™
- Sensors: 9-Axis (Gyro / Accelerometer / Compass), Barometer, PPG (Heart Rate Monitor)
- Color: Black
- Other: Dust and Water Resistant (IP67)
LG notes that “While the original G Watch was designed to be a no-nonsense, pure Android Wear device, the G Watch R was developed with a more aesthetic eye.” I would definitely say that they put together a mighty fine looking wearable here and I’m excited to see it in the flesh… or metal.
