First Two Android Wear Devices To Be Available Later Today Via Play Store
Google I/O is officially under way and as expected, Android Wear was one of the focal topics. In addition to showing off Android Wear and discussing app development for the platform, Google also announced the availability of the first batch of watches.
First off, the Moto 360 (which is the watch I’m most excited about) won’t be available until later this summer *all collectively sigh*. No firm date was given nor was the launch countries but I’m sure that information will be available soon. On a positive note, two devices (that’s right, TWO!) will be available via the Google Play Store later today! As expected, LG’s G Watch will be one of those watches that will be available later today as will the newly announced Gear Live from Samsung!
That’s right boys and girls, Samsung has decided to jump on the Android Wear train and already have a device ready to go. Design wise, the device looks very much like the current Gear watches, the Galaxy Gear 2 and Galaxy Gear Neo, so depending on how you feel about those device this could be good or bad news.
No pricing was given during the presentation nor was availability. It’s possible that these will only be available in the US Play Store today but I guess we’ll know that soon enough.
Any of you guys picking up a Android Wear watch today (assuming we can)?
