Check Out Omate’s TrueSmart Home Launcher

A while back we shared a post with you guys about the Omate TrueSmart, a true standalone smart watch.  Unlike other smartwatches, this watch does not need to be paired with another device to work but can take it’s own SIM card and run independently.  They have well surpassed their Kickstarter goal of $100 000 (they currently sit at $915 xxx) and have a ton of support.

One of the things that I was curious to see on the device was the UI.  How would they optimize Android for such a small display?  Well the Omate team has thrown a video up on YouTube showing off the home launcher and some of the basic functionality.  Everything seems to run quite smooth and the user doesn’t seem to be having issues navigating despite the fact that his fingers appear to be quite large.  I actually think it looks quite functional but I already backed the Kreyos so I’ll probably take a pass on this one.

What do you guys think?  Any of you backing or planning to back the TrueSmart?
