It definitely seems like smartwaches are here to stay but as it stands right now, they can still be a little pricey. There are some cheaper options out there already, like the Pebble Watch, but even cheaper options are on the way, such as these new watches from Archos. Archos has announced a trio of smartwatches that they will be bringing to market this year. The prices will range from just $50 for their low end model, $100 for their mid level model, and just $129 for the high end model.
There wasn’t much information disclosed by Archos but they did give some minor details about each device. The $50 model will feature a black-and-white display and will offer up to 1.5 week battery life. The $100 model will utilize a coloured LCD display but, as you may expect, battery life will be much shorter at 2 days. The top of the line model will feature a curved E-Ink display and will offer the same 1.5 week battery life of the low end model.
All three devices will pair with Android and iOS devices via Bluetooth Low Energy so you shouldn’t have to worry too much about your battery life taking a hit. Their website simply lists the devices as “coming soon” so we’ll update you once we get a more firm release date.
The device is still a bit of mystery in terms of the functionality but at $50-$129 it seems like a pretty decent deal without knowing too much about it.
