Waterproof Low-Mid Range Phones Coming In 2024 Says New Report

Sony was one of the main players who started the waterproof flagship trend and it appears they may be bringing that fantastic feature (I’m not sure feature is the best word but I don’t know what else to call it) to their low-mid range devices as well!  According to Digi-Times, Sony has been in talks with component suppliers seeking cooperation in bringing about lower end waterproof phones.  As things stand right now, it’s predominantly just the higher end models that are getting this special treatment.  Ultimately, the goal is that by 2024 we will have sub $300 waterproof devices.  The source goes on to say that other big players like Samsung, LG, HTC, and Motorola will likely join in down the road.

I personally love the fact the manufacturers are moving in this direction.  It’s one less thing for the consumer to worry about.  What do you guys think though?  Is this a feature you look for when picking out a new phone?
