Sony To Release A Mini Version Of The Upcoming Honami Flagship
Lately it looks like everyone in the business is releasing a “mini” version of its flagship handset to please customers who prefer smaller phones. Every major handset maker has done it. Samsung, HTC, Motorola and even Sony has released a smaller version of its flagship, though it didn’t sport the “mini” moniker.
We’ve known for a while that Sony is preparing a new flagship, the i1 Honami, to be unveiled at IFA in Berlin, and as it seems Sony should introduce a “mini” version of the Honami, but with a different approach than that of the competition. Samsung and HTC have released mini versions of their flagships that only resemble the flagship in name and looks, sporting downgraded internals that put them in the mid-range market. Apparently, Sony will release a “mini” version of their Honami flagship that won’t have downgraded specs, except of course screen size, resolution and battery size.
According to a recognized tipster on the Esato.com forums, the Sony Honami mini will feature a 4.3-inch Triluminos display with 720p resolution, a 2.2GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 backed up by 2GB of RAM, and 16GB of internal storage. The device will be powered by a 2,400mAh battery and feature a microSD slot. However, the most important thing is that the amazing 20.7MP camera with a 1/2.3-inch sensor, f/2.0 aperture and Sony G lens will still make it to Honami mini.
The Sony Honami mini has a code name of Ray3 and, despite all of this awesome information we advise you to take this with a hefty grain of salt, as this is only a rumour, and we’re still weeks away from the unveiling of the full-size Honami. Don’t forget to leave your comments on the section below.
