Samsung Is Looking To Free Up Some Extra Space On The S4

If you recall, BBC was planning to air a segment on their show Watchdog to investigate the lack of storage on the recently released Galaxy S4.  The Galaxy S4 contains 16GB of internal storage but only about 9GB of that 16GB is actually usable.  The rest of it is being used for the OS and the many many features that have been poured into the OS.

Well after having the segment aired and after hearing numerous complaints from tech sites and customers alike, Samsung has responded to the cry for more storage.  Here’s what they had to say to CNET UK:

“We appreciate this issue being raised and we will improve our communications…Also, we are reviewing the possibility to secure more memory space through further software optimization.”

Now how they go about obtaining this extra space is the big question now.  Can they condense some of their features to take up less space?  Do they remove features to open up space?  I guess we’ll have to wait and see.
