Rogers Sending Galaxy S8 Pre-Orders a Week Earlier

The Samsung Galaxy S8’s official launch date in Canada is April 21. But some lucky customers who have placed an order for the device with Rogers or Telus might see their handset arrive earlier.

Mobile Syrup reports that a user received an email from Rogers alerting him his Black Galaxy S8+ has been shipped and is on its way. Given that some carriers have pledged to start shipping out pre-ordered Galaxy S8 units as early as April 17, we can speculate that some Rogers pre-ordered units will become available for available for pickup as soon as Monday.

The black Galaxy S8 will also become available on the same date. However the Orchid Grey models might take a bit more time to arrive.

Samsung announced the Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8+ models a few weeks ago. The phones feature a novel design language and brand new features like Bixby. Sadly, it appears that Bixby Voice won’t be available upon launch. Samsung’s home-grown Siri-like viritual assistant is still a developing platform that is not yet ready for prime-time. According to a recent report, customers can expect to see Bixby Voice become available on their Galaxy S8 “later this spring”. Are you buying the Galaxy S8?
