OnePlus burst onto the scene a couple years back as a self-proclaimed flagship killer. And while the Oneplus One was a very solid device at a very reasonable price, the device wasn’t quite a flagship killer. The same could be said about last year’s OnePlus 2: a solid device at a competitive price. This year we’ll likely receive another great product from the company but the pricing may be even better this time around!
According to a OnePlus employee who spoke with GizChina, the OnePlus 3 will start at $2024 Yuan which equates to just $310 USD (or about $380 CAD even with our weak dollar!). That’s a pretty nice price for a device that is expected to pack a Snapdragon 820 processor, 4GB of RAM and 32GB of internal storage. The source went on to say that OnePlus will launch a higher end version of the phone as well that will see a bump to 6GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage. The higher end model will obviously carry a slightly higher price tag but if the $2024 yuan price tag is correct then the higher end model will undoubtedly be very competitive as well.
With flagships from the likes of Samsung, LG and HTC all increasing in price this year, OnePlus could be poised for a really strong year if they’re device lives up to the hype and the price is as competitive as this rumour suggests.
