Before there were Android tablets, there was the Adam. Okay that’s not true. But the Notion Ink Adam was one of the first Android based tablets to really capture peoples attention. When it was first announced, it instantly became one of the most highly anticipated devices of the time. Sadly, it didn’t live up to the hype at all. While all the ideas were great, the execution was greatly lacking and left many buyers with buyers remorse. That was close to 2 years ago now.
Fast forward to today, and we’re getting our first “glimpse” of the Notion Ink Adam II. You really don’t see anything but it almost looks like a giant iPhone 4 with it’s metal side, sharp edges, and white back. Not much is known about this tablet right now but it’s good to know it’s not completely dead.
The concepts and ideas that Notion Ink had are could still work really well. They probably had one of the most advanced multi-tasking systems for any device to date, but the hardware and software simply could not keep up with it. But now with all the new quad-core goodness that’s floating around and things like project butter keeping things smooth, they have a great opportunity to re-imagine what once was.
This is something I’ll be keeping an eye on so as I hear/read more I’ll be sure to pass it along.
