When HTC Sense UI first came out way back with the HTC Magic, I really liked it. It brought a sort of elegance to an otherwise dull Android experience (remember, this is way back in the Cupcake and Donut days). As time progressed, the UI became too bloated and was slowing down phones too much. It was still elegant, but if you don’t have some brains to go with the beauty it’s just eye candy.
Fast forward to 2024 and we have a new Sense on the way, Sense 5.0, one that is supposed to be paired down and simplified. This new UI is supposed to be a lot less bloated allowing for optimal performance and it should be making its début on the upcoming HTC M7. Several screen shots have been surfacing over the past few weeks and today we have some more to share with you guys.
These shots actually come from a port of some M7 software onto a Droid DNA. Overall things look very similar to what currently exists on Sense but there are minor changes here and there. Some of the icons are different, the home button icon has changed, and overall everything just looks clean and uncluttered. There also appears to be an additional row for icons and widgets (as there are 4 rows of icons and what looks to be a 4×1 clock widget) which is great for the new larger screens.
