Is it a big upgrade?
The author said the specs are much the same as the Z2 and the new design is a toss-up. The curved edges might be more comfortable, though they liked the look less. Sound output got more attention, but the author did not see it as a reason to upgrade. They did find it impressive that the larger Z3 is only 7.3mm thin.
Availability
Sony aimed to launch both phones in Japan and other regions in the autumn. The author guessed Canadian pricing would be near the Z2, about $650 to $700 outright and around $150 on contract. That was a guess, not an announced price.
