LG Working On Android 5.0 For The Optimus G
Well isn’t this interesting. It looks like LG may not be abandoning the old LG Optimus G quite yet. The original “G” device recently showed up on HTML5Test.com and as you can see the device is running Android 5.0!
LG hasn’t officially provided any information regarding an update for the Optimus G but apparently Android 4.4 powered devices leaked on this same site last year prior to the software becoming official. Plus, the Optimus G and Nexus 4 are very similar so it’s not like the phone can’t handle the update.
If this does come to fruition, I will be pleasantly pleased with LG’s software team. I kind of assumed that this device was forgotten but if they do continue to support their older flagships it will definitely earn them some points for future devices.
