The LG Optimus Vu is supposed to be released globally this September. The global version of this device wasn’t the same one released earlier on this year in Korea, but was going to feature a beefed up processor, the quad-core Tegra 3.
Despite the device not yet hitting the global market, LG has already announced a sequel to their take on the phablet. Not much is known about the device at this time. However, there is one key addition to the sequel. The LG Optimus Vu II will feature an infra-red sensor that will allow the device to be used as a remote.
It’s definitely a cool little addition, which could either save us all some time, or just make everyone a whole lot lazier. The other nice news about this sensor is that the Vu II will/should work with all devices, not just LG branded ones.
There’s a slim possibility that this feature could be launching with the global version of the Optimus Vu. Or it’s possible that the global version and the Optimus Vu II are on in the same device, but as always only time will tell.
