LG Optimus G May Get KitKat?

Well isn’t this interesting.  It seems the seemingly abandoned LG Optimus G might get an update to Android 4.4 KitKat after all.  The news comes courtesy of French carrier SFR.  According to them, the information has been confirmed by LG so it seems legitimate.  In terms of a time frame, SFR said that it should be coming “later in the summer” but that’s a pretty big window.

Now, there’s no guarantee that LG will roll out this update globally but at the same time it would pretty silly of them not to.  While LG is definitely a company on the rise, software support has not been their strong point so a global roll out of KitKat to Optimus G users would be a huge step in the right direction.
