It seems like LG really wants to try and take a slice of that phablet market. It’s only been six months since they released their take on the phablet, the Optimus Vu. The phone was received with very mixed reviews due to it’s underwhelming hardware and strange/unique (depending on how you feel about it) 4:3 screen.
Today LG is officially announcing the sequel to the device, the LG Optimus Vu II. On the surface it looks like the exact same device, but LG did do some work under the hood. Here’s the new spec sheet:
- 5″ 4:3 Screen
- 1.5 GHz S4 Processor
- 2GB Ram
- 2150 mAh battery
- 8MP Camera
- 1.3MP Front-Facing Camera
- NFC
- IR Sensor (can be used as a universal remote)
- One Key (helps you locate your lost device)
Not bad specs, but it feels very underpowered when you match it up against something like the Note II or the even the mystery 5″ HTC device that’s been making its rounds around the web. What do you guys think? Another flop or does LG have something here?
