There are a good handful of phones that will début in the next month or so but none will be more sought after (and likely more criticized because, you know, haters gonna hate) than the Samsung Galaxy S6. Now we already know that Samsung will be unveiling the device(s) on March 1 but thanks to an internal document we may have a clue about the release date as well.
According to the internal document (which was sent to the guys over at PhoneArena), there will be two time off blackout periods. The first will run March 22-March 30 while the second blackout runs April 19-April 27. Although the document doesn’t outright state that the S6 will be launching during these blackout periods, history suggests that that is exactly the case.
So why are there two blackout periods? Well here’s my best guess. My guess is that the initial launch (March) will be much more localized, possibly just in South Korea. This will allow them to bring the device to a market in a very timely manner while still giving them time to ramp up production for a wider global launch that will occur in April. Again, this is just my best guess but it makes sense to me.
If these black out dates do end up coinciding with the launch then this will be one of the speediest announcement to release launches Samsung has ever managed to pull off.
