Google’s Already Busy Developing Android 5.1

51

Android 5.0 is now officially released and OTA rollout for the update has started on Nexus devices and some Motorola phones, so what better way to celebrate this than by developing the next version?

Google’s well known Android engineers, Romain Guy and Chet Haase, held a conference today in Belgium about Android Lollipop app development with Material Design. Turns out, they were actually using Android LollipopMR1 on their Nexus 5. MR1 stands for Maintenance Release 1, and in the past, it usually came after the inital Android release. Which means we could be looking at Android 5.1 in the future.

It really doesn’t say a lot, but it leaves the impression that Google is already working on the new version probaby shipped as newer version of Lollipop in the future (like what happened with many Jelly Bean versions).
