Could This Be the Google Pixel 2?
One of the most exciting phones expected this autumn is obviously the Google Pixel 2. While the handset popped in the rumour mill a few times, it remains quite an elusive topic.
Well last week an image of the upcoming smartphone leaked online via the Chinese website Sina, revealing some interesting details in the process.
For starters, it seems like the Google Pixel 2 will arrive with an edge-to-edge display which looks very similar to the one on the Galaxy S8 and LG G6. The side bezels are barely visible, while the top and bottom ones are very minimalist.
Furthermore, we can spot a dual-camera setup on the back of the alleged Pixel. The picture is pretty small, but the two sensors are quite visible. The report mentions the dual camera assembly will be made up of 16-megapixel sensors, while the frontal camera will be of 8-megapixel variety.
We’re also told the phone will be based on the Snapdragon 836, a revised version of the Snapdragon 835. Qualcomm launched the Snapdragon 821 after the Snapdragon 820 in 2024, so the company might as well launch an improved Snapdragon 835 version later in 2024.
According to earlier rumours, the Pixel 2 could also be waterproof or water-resistant and feature a microSD card slot.
