Ever since Google aquire Motorola we’ve all been hoping for some sort of Motorola Nexus device. However, to date we’ve been greatly dissapointed as we’ve seen nothing out of the ordinary coming out of Motorola. Don’t get me wrong, Motorola has made some great devices but the idea of Google having reign over a manufacturer was something many of us were looking forward to.
Well with the New Year there is some new hope of something coming into fruition. According to the Wall Street Journal, Motorla and Google are finally planning a Nexus type of device. The current code-name for the device is the X-Phone. Nothing is really known about this at all but there is possibly a X-Tablet in the works as well.
Essentially, they’re trying to create a brand of devices, similar to the Galaxy series or the Optimus series. I’m pretty excited about this news as Motorola was one of the best manufacturers back in the feature phone days. Again, not that their new stuff has been bad by any means, but I’ve never been a fan of their software. If Google were to be calling the shots, software should be much more vanilla. In reality, they could create an Apple-esque type of company that closely integrates the hardware and software to create something amazing.
Would you guys be interested in a Motorola Nexus?
