A couple of days ago a story made its way onto the interwebs claiming that Samsung was going to downsize the battery capacity on the upcoming Galaxy S6. According to the report, Samsung would be dropping from a 2800 mAh battery in the S5 to just a 2600 mAh battery for the S6. Well if these pictures are to be legitimate then the new battery size has indeed been confirmed.
The photos surfaced on Chinese microblogging site Weibo, a site that has provided accurate leaks in the past. As you can see in the photo, the capacity for these batteries is just 2600 mAh. The other interesting thing that we can take away from these photos is that this battery is designed in such a way that it will not to be easily swapped, which the previous report also claimed.
Again, this story should still be filed in the rumour category but it has definitely gained some major traction.
