Galaxy S III Could Get Multi-Window Feature
One of the coolest features of the Galaxy Note series has got to be the multi-window mode which allows you to run multiple apps on the same screen. The first time I saw this idea in action was with open sourced app called Cornerstone. I tried this on my HP Touchpad a while back and it worked wonderfully. One of the things that differentiated it from Samsung’s multi-window mode was that you actually had everything on each window (home pages, app drawer, etc).
Cornerstone has since faded away but it’s ideas live on in the Note series and may soon be making its way into one of the top phones in the world, the Galaxy S III. The image you see above is an alleged screen shot of the feature in action and as you can see it’s running on a international Galaxy S III.
This would really be a great addition to a phone that’s already packed with features. The screen is definitely big enough to run two different apps on the same screen so it’s definitely a possibility. The rumour is that this will be coming in an OTA before the end of the year. So perhaps this will be packed into the upcoming Jelly Bean update that so many are anxiously waiting for.
