It doesn’t seem like all the long ago that I was trying to find a way to justify spending $600 on the Nexus One. I was the owner of the wonderful HTC Dream but had just seen the Nexus One in person for the first time. I was immediately impressed with the speed and the design and tried to figure out how I could secure $600 as fast as possible. Ultimately I held off purchasing the device but I did end up snagging one used for a little over $100 years later. Sadly it was stolen from me….still such a sad day in this bloggers history.
Again, it doesn’t seem like that long ago that the first Nexus device came to market but things have come a long long way, both in the Nexus project and in Android as a whole. The guys over at PhoneBuff have put together this little video to show just how far things have come since the Nexus One. In the video, they showcase all 5 Nexus phones side by side and show the speed difference in boot up, loading a game, and web browsing. Obviously the Nexus 5 wins out every time but the Nexus 4 still performs very well. Even the Galaxy Nexus keeps up pretty well with it’s successors.
The crazy part for me is to think that just a few years ago I thought that the Nexus One was so fast and was ready to shell out $600 for it! Obviously things have come a long long way. And to be fair to the Nexus One, I still love the device and it will remain one of my all time favourite phones.
Which Nexus device was your all time favourite?
