Canada to Get HTC Hero and Motorola CLIQ?

Two of the most anticipated Android-powered devices have been reviewed all over the internet, the HTC Hero and Motorola CLIQ. The big question for Canadians is when will we be able to get our hands on these new phones?

We know our American neighbours already have the HTC Hero with Sprint and the Motorola CLIQ with T-Mobile. But what about Canada? Well, a report came out a while back that apparently Telus will be launching the HTC Hero when their HSPA network goes live. We can only assume that Rogers and Bell would try to carry the HTC Hero as well.

As for the Motorola CLIQ, nothing around the web has been spilling the beans on when Canada will get this Android phone. The CLIQ could be Motorola’s comeback-kid, as they have definitely gone downhill ever since the popular RAZR flip (you know it’s popular when your grandma has one!). The CLIQ has strong performance for all you social network butterflies, and its 3.1-inch capacitive touchscreen seems to do the job.

The Rogers monopoly on the newest GSM handsets will come crashing down once Telus and Bell launch their HSPA networks. It’ll be exciting to see who will carry the latest Android handsets in Canada. Would you be willing to move providers to get your hands on the HTC Hero or Motorola CLIQ?
