According to a couple of tips over on MobileSyrup, both Telus and Bell are set to release the Samsung Galaxy Rugby LTE in the coming weeks. Bell is set to launch the phone on November 1 while Telus is launching some time in October.
The Galaxy Rugby definitely isn’t for everyone. It’s built for those who need a rugged smartphone that can withstand bumps, drops, even water. Previous iterations of the Rugby have been decent and the latest appears to simply improve on what has come before it. Here’s the full specs:
- 3.97″ Super AMOLED Display (400×800 Resolution)
- 1.5GHz Dual-Core Processor
- 5MP Camera
- 1.3MP Front Facing Camera
- 1850 mAh Battery
- LTE, DLNA, NFC (with S-Beam)
- Launching with ICS
It looks to be on the level of the Galaxy S II, which is a great device (especially if you get Jelly Bean running on it). I really like that Samsung is trying to create a specific brand across their entire line-up and that features such as S-Beam are showing up across the board. So if you’re in need of a extra tough phone, a pretty nice gem is just around the corner.
