It’s finally here! The first preview images of the upcoming Ubuntu Touch software are now available for download and there’s even install instructions included as well!
Just in case you’ve missed the news, Ubuntu Touch is a new operating system that’s based on Linux. So while it’s not Android, the software should be compatible with all Android devices which is really exciting news. Currently, the Galaxy Nexus, Nexus 4, Nexus 7, and Nexus 10 are all supported in this preview image but I’m sure some devs will port this over to other devices soon enough.
The instructions may be a little bit difficult for the average person but, again, I’m sure some crafty devs over on XDA will put together some sort of install-for-dummies soon enough. I’ll probably wait for the latter as I’m not the most knowledgeable when it comes to installing new software. However, I’m pretty stoked about this so I may jump at any chance once I have some free time.
Have any of you guys tried it out yet? Any of you planning to try it?
