Optimus 2X Getting ICS Afterall…In Korea

Well here’s another device that has had it’s own little up and down regarding its ICS update.  A while back we reported that the Optimus 2x would not be receiving ICS.  The news came via a tweet on the LG Canada twitter page.

Well it turns out that the cancellation of the update may not be for all Optimus 2x’s. but maybe only for us in Canada.  According to another tweet that has popped up on the LG Korea twitter page the update has not been cancelled but has been held up due to testing.

Apparently the update is still very much in the works.  But it should be noted that the message was referring to the Korean units only.

So why did I bother reporting this if Canadians may still be left in the dust?  Well the fact that it’s still in the works at least offers some hope that it  could still make its way officially.  Or at the very least, if it is indeed released there’s a possibility that developers will find a way to bring it to the masses via a custom ROM or maybe even a less “scary” method.
