Key Lime Pie Pops Up On Benchmark?

Back in October when Google announced its newest additions to the Nexus line up many people were also expecting the next tasty dessert to be announced as well.  However, Key Lime Pie didn’t make it’s debut but instead Android 4.2, another variation of Jelly Bean, was announced instead.  That left many wondering when we would see Key Lime Pie and what to expect in it.

While those questions are definitely still needing to be answered, it appears that Android 5.0 is very much in the works.  The next iteration of Android has showed up on the NenaMark benchmark.  The device running the future OS?  A variation of the Sony Xperia T.

This is definitely a very interesting little bit of information as it possibly tells us two things.  1.  Sony could very well be working on a Nexus device.  Although I highly doubt that this is that device given its less than spectacular hardware (I expect much something that will one up the current Nexus 4).  2. Key Lime Pie should be able to run on older hardware.  Again, the specs on the Xperia T are not top of the line.  They’re definitely good, but not great.  So if this device is indeed running 5.0, I imagine that many other devices will get the update and won’t be left in the dust.

Exciting news, but there’s still so much more to be learned.  We’ll definitely be keeping a close eye on any new Key Lime Pie developments.
