ICS ported onto ASUS Transformer TF101

Okay, seeing that post had me catching my breath … Clearly my eeePad has been the quickest to receive updates and the like, so my standing bet that it would be the first device get an official ICS update will stay intact.  But it looks like it will also get the first unofficial ICS update/port.

The hardworking group over at XDA is at it again with an early version of ICS on the eeePad [jump to page 150 or so].  Now there’s a few things wrong with it (as with most initial versions/mods out there), so nothing you’ll want to jump all over and flash to your device quite yet.  But it’s working – so a fully functioning version is soon to be out.

They’ve got WiFi, GPS and bluetooth all working, but not audio or screen rotation.  There’s some green flashes, so I’m guessing that it’s not quite accessing the GPU.

But it gives us hope!  Depending on when Asus can give us a timeline on when they’ll provide an update, I might end up popping my rooting cherry on my tablet to try it out.
