HTC Evo 3D Black Screen of Death?

PhanDroid has reported that some users of the HTC Evo 3D are experiencing the ‘Black screen of death’. It seemed to be a rare occurrence, but as time goes on, more reports start coming in with simular complaints.

users are reporting a mysterious black-screen-of-death issue where their screen will go black and become unresponsive. Battery pulls, shaking and cursing at the device don’t seem to help and the causes are from average use. All users report completely stock devices with no attempts at rooting or any hacking being done whatsoever.

HTC will be addressing in their upcoming software update for the device. Have any of our readers experienced the black-screen-of-death?

Is it me, or is this a really huge oversite? I know there are only a few reports, but as the marketers say “Every report counts as 100 people” due to the fact that most wont report. Surely HTC does testing of their products, but how can you miss something so outstanding as instant death?

It’s actually kinda funny to me, because a friend of mine and I were discussing what phone he should upgrade to. I had mentioned that the HTC Evo 3D was Canadians first 3D phone and anyone who buys it is basically the first round of guineapigs
