Galaxy S III Could Get Jelly Bean August 29

There’s a rumour running around that the Galaxy S III could receive a taste of Jelly Bean as soon as August 29, the same day that they are to announce the Galaxy Note II.  The rumour comes via a tip from an anonymous source over on GSMArena.  It’s the same anonymous source that released the proposed Galaxy Note II render.  So probably take this with a grain of salt.

We do know that Samsung is indeed working on Jelly Bean for their flagship device and last I read they were already at the testing phase and that was a couple of weeks ago.  So this little bit of update news could ring true.  However even if it is released August 29, chances are Canadians won’t see this for a while.  My guess is that this is for the international version of the S3 and that the North American LTE version will probably get theirs a month or so after the original.  Sadly our updates need to go through carrier testing before it can be rolled out.  And in my experience, carrier testing is what often holds things up.

I’ll be sure to keep you all posted if I hear any more.
