Sony has been making some great strides recently to regain some popularity in a crowded Android market. To begin with, they have a handful of top notch devices slated to release this year in the Xperia Z, Xperia ZL and Xperia Tablet Z. In addition to getting back to producing great hardware, they’ve been opening themselves up more and more to the developer community.
Their latest move in aiding the developer community was releasing an alpha build of Jelly Bean for the Xperia T. They do note in their blog that this isn’t for everyone, but rather it is targeted for the more advanced developer for testing purposes. The purpose on Sony’s end is to have this build tested out prior to an official release. However, the developers can utilize these builds to work out their own custom ROMS.
Sony does also note that the update isn’t far off and according to Rogers latest update, the upgrade should hit sometime in February.
