Moto Z Now Official, Coming To Canada This September
Today at Lenovo Tech World in San Francisco, Motorola and Lenovo officially unveiled their next flagship lineup with the previously leaked Moto Z moniker.
Alongside the launch of the phone was MotoMods, a new magnetic modular accessory that will work by communicating through contact pins on the back. For now, the only mods are Sound Boost which acts as a mini speaker, Insta-Share Mod which literally turns the phone into a projector screen and the Power Pack Mod which acts as an extended battery.
As for the phone itself, it sports a 5.5-inch Quad HD AMOLED display, Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 SoC with 4GB of RAM, 32GB/64GB of internal storage with SD card expansion, 13 MP rear camera with OIS and a 5 MP front facing camera. The company is claiming 30 hours of battery life out of the 2,600mAh battery however that can be greatly increased thanks to the Power Pack Mod.
Other phones announced my Motorola include (as expected) the Moto Z Force which comes with the same display except for the fact that it will be “shatterpoof”. Other differences include a larger 3,650 mAh battery and a 23 MP rear, 5 MP camera. And if you haven’t already noticed a missing 3.5mm headphone jack, well it is indeed missing as the company has decided to replace it for a USB-C connector.
According to MobileSyrup, only the Moto Z will be coming to Canada at a price north of $600. However the company did state that it will be “…broadly available in Canada at various retailers this fall”.
