A couple of months back we detailed a potential new service that Google would be offering, YouTube MusicKey. In essence, the service would take all of the amazing music we listen to on YouTube and make it available to download and listen offline. Well that service is now official and the good news for All Access subscribers is that it will be automatically bundled into your All Access subscription.
For those who aren’t already subscribed to All Access, they’ll be able to purchase YouTube Music Key and All Access for $7.99/month (likely a promotional price just like the promo for All Access). The subscription also gets rid of ads while watching music videos on YouTube which may be reason enough for some YouTubers to subscribe!
From the screen shot below, it looks like the service will go live next week. As you might notice, however, it is listed as a beta program. I’m not sure if that means they’re going to be limiting the initial release or if its’ simply a matter of throwing the tag on there in case there are any bugs. I’ll be keeping a close eye on it as there’s a good amount of YouTube music I enjoy so I’ll let you know when it goes live.
