What the wha? YouTube updated — did you notice?
While looking through articles out there to see what others are talking about (I have about 500+ Android articles I go through daily), I saw that the Youtube app was updated.
Now I know GoogleTV’s version updated the other day. I got mine to eventually update, but it was a different name in the Market than what was installed, so I couldn’t normally get the udpate.
So, thinking maybe it was an old article I went and checked my devices. They weren’t saying YouTube needed an update… In fact, upon looking it didn’t even list YouTube in the list of ”Installed” apps. Hrmm…
I did a manual search of “youtube” and found the app, it had the ‘installed’ sign on it, but when I clicked on it, it then showed an option to update.
Apparently this update is for devices that are 3.2+, and has some bug fixes.
For those of you out there with a 3.2+ device, and can’t recall getting any updates in the last week (it came out Feb 14), go click here to check the market.
So… what the wha? For the frenchies out there: ”qu’est ce que le WHA?”
Has anybody else noticed this phenomenon? That an app that might need updating isn’t saying it’s needing updating, but it’s not even showing.
I’ve had where it just hasn’t hit my area yet for the update and it says it needs an update, but ultimately it won’t… in those scenarios I just wait and then it will update, usually a few hours.
However, not listing an app that I KNOW I’ve installed in the list is a new one for me.
Makes me want to go app by app and check each to see what I might also be missing (if you read my articles, you know I love getting updates), so missing any that I was supposed to get is bothering me. But I’ve got over 100 apps on each device, going one by one could take some time… guess I’m not getting any work done today! :S
